As I walked into the examination room, I saw the nurse preparing the syringe. My fear intensified, and I started to feel weak in the knees. The nurse smiled kindly and tried to distract me by engaging in small talk. She asked me about my favorite toy and what I wanted to be when I grew up. Although her efforts were appreciated, I couldn't help but focus on the needle in her hand.

She gently cleaned the area on my arm and told me to look away. I closed my eyes tightly, hoping that the pain would be over soon. I felt a slight pinch, followed by a burning sensation. It was uncomfortable, but not as unbearable as I had imagined. I slowly opened my eyes to find the nurse putting a bandage on my arm.

"It's all done," she said with a smile. "You were very brave."

I felt a sense of relief wash over me. The fear I had built up in my mind was worse than the actual experience. From that day forward, I learned that injections were not as scary as I had once believed. They were a necessary part of staying healthy, and although they may be uncomfortable, they were ultimately for my own benefit.
